About the Opportunity

A Rainbow Tick accredited organisation, FVREE is committed to providing culturally safe and inclusive services to victim survivors from the LGBTIQA+ community. We understand the nuanced family violence risks often experienced by LGBTIQA+ victim survivors and the importance of providing targeted service responses. We also recognise that LGBTIQA+ people face a range of barriers in accessing services that best meet their needs.

As the LGBTIQA+ Practice Leader you will drive best practice across the organisation in working with LGBTIQA+ victim survivors. You will be passionate about improving accessibility and outcomes for our LGBTIQA+ clients and will strengthen and/or establish new relationships with specialist LGBTIQA+ services to achieve these goals.

We are looking for someone who:

- Can operate with autonomy and accountability in leading LGBTIQA+ best practice.
- Is able to speak to their understanding of the determinants of family violence and intersectionality; the nuanced risks and perpetrator tactics specific to the LGBTIQA+ community; and the short term and long-term impacts this can have on victim survivors.
- Shares their knowledge of services and systems relevant to the LGBTI+ community.
- Can build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including other service providers and agencies, to collaborate on initiatives and share knowledge and resources.
- Has the ability to deliver training and facilitate workshops, seminars, or other learning opportunities for staff.
- Can think both strategically and analytically - you can see the big picture, connect the dots, and think outside the box.
- Is a strong communicator - you can express complex concepts in simple and accessible ways, and bring people together to collaborate for better impact.

Ideally, you will also have:

- A relevant tertiary degree such as Social Work*
- Significant practice experience in providing services for victim survivors of family violence
- Experience and/or knowledge of the LGBTIQA+ service system.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, including ability to develop and maintain partnerships and work collaboratively both internally and externally.

We celebrate diversity in all its forms, and welcome interest in our work from people with a range of experiences.

You will be deeply aligned with our values and understand that gender inequality is one of the main drivers of family violence. You’ll be motivated by advocating and upholding the rights of women and children to be safe and free.

Following recommendations by the Royal Commission it has become a requirement for Family Violence Practitioners to have, or work towards, minimum qualifications like a social work degree, or Graduate Certificate in Family Violence. *For more information on the mandatory minimum qualifications please visit _here_._

What We Offer
- We are a specialist service so we can help you build a deep understanding of family violence practice
- We offer wrap around support for new people to develop skills on the job
- We are a welcoming, supportive and inclusive team - we are proud of our culture
- We walk the talk on inclusion: bring your whole self to work
- We believe in lifelong learning and support you to engage in professional development
- We have great benefits like parental leave, EAP and wellbeing supports
- We know flexibility is important - work a day a week from home in full time roles
