**About the team**

The Department of Customer Service is a central NSW Government agency making it easier to deal with government by driving improvements in customer service. We offer the opportunity to work on exciting, innovative high-profile projects in a flexible, supportive and inclusive work environment, with multiple office locations. The Stakeholder and Community Engagement team supports the Department of Customer Service by engaging and consulting with industry, community, and government stakeholders. We produce compelling events, conduct stakeholder mapping and research, develop targeted communication materials, and coordinate major program communication plans for cluster partners. We have supported the delivery of major customer-facing initiatives such as the Digital Driver Licence, Dine & Discover NSW, Active Kids and Creative Kids, and have introduced a new digital engagement platform for NSW Government called Have Your Say.

**The role**

We’re looking for a dynamic, resourceful, and highly motivated individual to join our award-winning events team. As Events Advisor you will undertake client consultation, strategic event planning and operational delivery across a portfolio of high-impact internal and external facing events and communications, for key stakeholders across the Department of Customer Service. The role requires leadership with a proven track record in delivering a mix of both in-person, digital broadcast, and hybrid events. You will have strong technical skills and experience with online events, working with external providers, venues, and suppliers in helping deliver a new breed of events. In addition, you will develop, coordinate and deliver effective communications. You will be organised, adaptable to changing timeframes and able to change complex information into plain English to ensure communications are clear, balanced and accessible to businesses, industry groups and the community.

**Your key accountabilities include**:

- Strategic event planning and delivery of events for the organisation and agencies in the cluster.
- Client liaison, sourcing venues, suppliers, and leading operations onsite, including speaker and stakeholder management.
- Develop events communications and liaise with internal teams including media, social media and customer marketing functions to promote events and community engagement.
- Support the team in developing, coordinate and deliver effective stakeholder communications, including to local community, non-government organisations, business and government agencies.
- Develop and provide reports and metrics on a regular basis, including budget tracking, community engagement and lists, satisfactions scorecards and internal feedback about event engagement activities.
- Gather and collate information and prepare documentation to provide accurate, timely and complete reports that enable planning, review and continual improvement of our team services and processes that reflect industry best practice, and
- Manage branded event merchandise and collateral where required.

**Key Skills and Experience to be successful**
- Proven track record in delivering in-person, digital broadcast, and hybrid events.
- Strong event management experience is required.
- Strong technical skills and experience with online events - working with external providers, venues, and suppliers.
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
- Consummate professional, managing multiple relationships with diplomacy at all levels of seniority.
- High level attention to detail, organisation and prioritisation, and
- Experience using event platforms such as Streamyard, Vimeo, Slido, MS Teams Town Hall, or Eventbrite.
