West Leederville, Australia WA Local Government Association Full time

6 weeks’ annual leave (30 days)
- Varied role focussed on providing expert digital marketing advice
- Friendly, inclusive, and dynamic team

**Digital Marketing and Communications Advisor**

**Full-Time**

**Total Package $102,760.32** **per annum (inclusive of super guarantee)**

WALGA (WA Local Government Association) is building a marketing team for the future.

We’re an independent member-based, not-for-profit organisation delivering expertise and support to the WA Local Government sector.

We advocate and influence on behalf of our members and we raise the credibility and profile of the sector with positive marketing and communication to a wide audience.

Now we’re looking for the right people to help us build and innovate our marketing and communications.

**About you**

You’re that unique individual; an organised, “details person”, but one with a creative flair. You’ve seen your fair share of CMS platforms over the last five years, and you’ve brought your content talents to bear on all of them, creating intriguing and engaging content through smart use of visuals and snappy writing.

Finding the most effective way to get your message to stakeholders is an ever-changing challenge, but one you relish. For you, the combination of EDMs and segmented audiences is an exciting opportunity to connect, to build relationships and to tell a story.

You might already be running websites, socials, and digital communications in house, but you’d love to delve deeper, to be less thinly spread, and to focus your talents into a key suite of tools.

You know the value of playing a part in, and helping deliver, a positive, team-focused culture. You love being part of something greater than the sum of its parts, and you know that you can play a key role in the team.

You’ll be providing digital marketing advice about, and taking ownership of, WALGA’s website, EDM strategy and social media content, with the chance to help define the specifics of how best to use these resources to deliver value for the organisation.

You’ll have access to mentors with years of experience, and networks to envy, as well as a broader team of advocacy specialists with knowledge of media, events, content and data.

You’re not afraid to own challenges and offer solutions, and you’re interested in the next new thing, the next step to improvement in all your professional activities. And you can get onboard with our vision of leveraging the collective strength and influence of the sector for the benefit of WA Local Government and their communities.

Most of all, you want to be part of an aligned team, one that supports each another and demonstrates its values through its behaviour as we learn, have fun, and build a new way of marketing WALGA.

**What are we offering?**

In addition to a sector-leading 6 weeks’ (30 days) annual leave, an office in West Leederville within easy reach of public transport and paid parking, access to a wellbeing program, an active social club, and a commitment to employee development, we are also offering:

- A flexible and hybrid working environment
- The opportunity to develop your marketing and leadership skills working on everything from sector-wide brand campaigns to member service marketing
- A quality working environment with an innovative digital technology roadmap underway
- Access to senior members of the team who have significant experience across consulting, agency and government
- The opportunity to support the delivery of new strategic approach and marketing initiatives with senior stakeholders
- Proven experience as website and social media manager, ideally in B2B environment and/ or agency
- Experience in government or highly regulated industry (desired)
- Solid understanding of marketing strategy, campaign development and reporting
- Proven experience managing websites, social media channels and EDMs
- Experience in marketing campaign development from briefing to delivery and reporting
- Ability to work both autonomously and in a collaborative team environment, with a strong initiative, attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks
- The appetite to learn and assimilate new things, and to redefine how our marketing delivery works.
