Overseeing the delivery of underwriting services to clients to maximise financial objectives, maintain exceptional levels of customer service, meet compliance benchmarks, and uphold underwriting standards This is a permanent opportunity working within a flexible work environment that offers hybrid working. **You'll be responsible for**: - Ensure a fair and equitable distribution of work across the underwriting team, routinely reviewing workload allocation to optimize portfolio management mindful of development and growth needs for each team member. - Act as the Subject Matter Expert and coach to a high-performing team of Direct Underwriters. - Ensure Customer expectations and business objectives are met by maximising team performance through effective management, coordination of duties, maintenance of standards and continuous improvement of process. - Identify opportunities to further enhance the efficiency if underwriting practices and build capability of the team and Underwriting operations to increase the scope of the functions they can support. - Develop internal and external customer relationships by seeking to understand customer requirements, anticipating, and recommending solutions and ensuring team cohesion to provide a positive customer experience and outcome - Manage internal relationships, modelling team collaboration in resolving issues within and across teams, providing direction and support when escalated, for optimal resolution results. **Important to your success**: - Extensive experience in an operational, commercial Underwriting management / leadership role in a general insurance organisation. - Significant Workers Compensation/ Personal Injury experience & knowledge of the associated legislation - Demonstrates commercial acumen by using insights related to the market, opportunities, risks, and competitors within the insurance industry. - Extensive background in proactively building and maintaining professional relationships and networks to enhance industry positioning. - Experience empowering people and leading a successful team to ensure staff, business and customer needs are met. - Proven analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns and trends **What's on offer?** - **Flexible work environment**: - **Permanent opportunity**: - **Join a division within Allianz that offer continuous market growth and unlimited opportunity to be involved in change**: - A competitive salary package including bonus structure - A tailored career program to determine where you want to go within Allianz - A range of attractive benefits including Insurance & Gym Membership discounts - A strong, progressive & supportive team environment; we work together to achieve great results **About us** Allianz is one of the most trusted insurance and asset management companies in the world.
