This is a full-time role based at our Head Office in Helensvale with extensive travel to various work sites. This is an ideal next step opportunity for someone who has a strong background in workplace health and safety, compliance audits and exceptional communication and relationship-building skills as you will provide leadership and direction to the WHS team ensuring that they understand their role and meet their legislative obligations. Other **responsibilities **include - Ensure that health and safety audits, inspections and investigations are conducted and that appropriate risk identification, assessment and control measures are in place. - Ensure that breaches of standards or procedures and any non-compliances or observations are investigated, resolved, corrective actions taken, and learnings identified and disseminated across the organisation. - Review the health and safety management system and develop and implement updates, including standards, policies and procedures and supporting systems, ensuring that all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements and standards are met. - Assist with the preparation of annual health and safety budget and financial forecasts. - Establish and maintain strong relationships with managers, supervisors and staff across the organisation, ensuring that all parties have a clear agreement and understanding of their respective roles and accountabilities to reduce risk and injury and ensure a safe workplace. **Essential Skills and Attributes** - You will need to have previous experience in a WHS role, ideally within the civil construction industry. - Ability to investigate accidents and incidents and implement recommendation for preventative action. - Strong knowledge of the applicable Federal and State legislation, Regulations and Codes of Practice. - Highly effective communication, interpersonal, planning and negotiation skills, particularly as they relate to the delivery of quality customer service across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. - Tertiary qualification in Workplace Health and Safety, Quality Management or similar will be highly regarded but is not essential **What’s next?** If you would like to join our team and hold full, unlimited working rights in Australia, we encourage you to submit your CV.
