**As Cultural Practice Advisor (Delegated Authority) you will:

- Support the implementation and operationalisation of Delegated Authority through culturally informed partnerships and action learning approach.
- Effectively and positively engage with children, families, carers and service providers (including both government and non-government agencies) to support the transition of decision making from the Department to Community Controlled Organisations to meet the cultural needs of children and families to achieve their identified case plan goals and cultural support plan goals.
- Through your knowledge of community and cultural protocols, provide individualised, high quality, and culturally appropriate advice to support a shared approach to decision making that is grounded in connection and self-determination.
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders, including children and parents, families and Community Controlled Organisations to support the establishment and strengthening of effective safety and support networks, including connection to extended family, community, country and culture.
- Provide high quality cultural advice and direction to assist in informing decisions about the safety needs of children, particularly where complex child protection worries are present.
- Participate effectively and provide cultural leadership in a multidisciplinary team to deliver well-planned and culturally appropriate family support services to children and families experiencing vulnerability.
- Prepare and maintain quality case records in accordance with departmental case management requirements.
- Contribute to strengthening workforce cultural capability through sharing your cultural advice, knowledge of communities, and awareness of culturally significant processes and events.

Your mandatory requirements
- Travel is a requirement of this position; therefore, it is a requirement that the applicant must hold a driver's licence. Accepted driver's licences fall into the following categories:

- "O" (open) or "P2" (provisional green P plate);
- and "C" or "CA" class driver's licence
- It is a genuine occupational requirement that this position be filled by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. One of the referees should be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person who can attest to the applicant's background, knowledge, skills, and experience as they relate to the cultural capabilities.
- A statement not more than two pages, that summarises your skills, experience and achievements against the leadership competencies and duties/responsibilities of the position.
- Evidence of Attribute - Schedule One, Part A if you identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander or are of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent. Schedule Part B is required if you are accepted as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community in which you live.
