Sugar Research Australia (SRA), Australia’s specialist sugarcane research organisation, was established in 2013 as a sugarcane grower
- and miller-owned company. SRA is the declared Industry Services Body for the Australian sugarcane industry and was created through an amalgamation of two former entities, the Sugar Research and Development Corporation (SRDC) and BSES (The bureau of Sugar Experiment Stations). It plays a critical role helping to shape the future prosperity of the industry by using its research and development activities in innovative ways.

Due to an internal restructure, the highly influential role of Head of Communications is now open. Reporting directly to the CEO and leading a small team, this role will support the business by taking charge and delivering the organisational strategic and operational planning process as well as managing internal communications.

**Key accountabilities are as follows**:

- Actively supporting the cultural transformation of the organisation to being a safe place to work and one of continual learning and commercially outcome focussed organisation.
- Developing and delivering internal communication campaigns and plans as well as leading and creating opportunities to promote the businesses brand with media.
- Deploying highly effective stakeholder strategies to strengthen relationships with significant stakeholders and developing a customer and stakeholder framework to build knowledge and expertise around cost and value drivers.

**About you**
- Tertiary qualified in Business Administration, Corporate Affairs, Public Relations or similar with Masters in Business Administration highly desirable
- Must hold a current Drivers Licence
- Experience leading projects from inception to completion with strong attention to detail and ability to drive transformation
- Demonstrated success in working successfully with Board and Executive team with exceptional verbal communication and the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders to ensure organisational goals are met.
