We're on a mission to be a Force For Good, through our People, Products and Purpose at Nuix. Nuix is one of the greatest comeback Technology success stories in Australia, and we're making massive waves each day. Nuix is, and will be, a pioneer in the Australian Technology space, and we're carrying the torch on what "good" looks like.

This extends to our People. We're fiercely passionate, love working at pace, thrive in ambiguity, live, and breathe outside of the box, and above all are good humans. Our impact extends outside of our 9-5, and our place in society isn't always defined by corporate metrics. We're determined to make a positive difference in the world, whether through our solutions which help the top companies, governments and agencies find the truth and combat illegal activities, or through our people who care about contributing and giving back both within, and outside, of Nuix. We are a Force For Good. For Everyone.

**Role Overview**

As a DevOps Manager at Nuix, you will be instrumental in the development and continuous improvement of our core CI/CD build pipelines for our SaaS and on-premise solutions. This encompasses the entire lifecycle, including the design and implementation of sophisticated build scripts, comprehensive automated testing frameworks, integrated security tooling, and reliable code release processes across multiple platforms within a unified tech stack.

A key focus of your role will be to elevate developer productivity through tooling, practices and frameworks that enable our engineers to deliver maximum value with minimum friction. You will be a technical leader, mentor, and driver of automation, security, and operational stability within our fast-paced, agile environment. In this role, 50% of your time is expected to be in a technical individual contributor capacity, actively participating in design, implementation, and problem-solving.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead and develop high-performing DevOps engineers
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and professional growth through mentorship programs and skill development initiatives
- Foster virtual communities of practice to share knowledge and best practices across team members

**Technical Leadership**
- Foster DevOps culture that promotes collaboration, innovation, and "always releasable" software.
- Improve deployability of software, drive infrastructure-as-code practices, automate environment provisioning and implement cost management strategies.
- Proactively improve operational excellence across all Nuix development, staging, and production environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Assist, guide, and provide expert technical support to other engineering teams in adopting DevOps-based tools, processes, and best practices.
- Lead and drive technical initiatives effectively across various engineering teams, ensuring alignment and successful outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Developer Experience team to drive improvements to our shared DevOps platforms, including:

- Optimisation of our Jenkins-based CI/CD platform for high throughput and reliability.
- Maintaining secure and scalable AWS networking components.
- Integrating security scanning tools (SAST/DAST), implementing security best practices within pipelines, and contributing to our overall security posture.
- Implementing and managing centralized logging and monitoring solutions (ideally with experience in Sumologic or similar).

**Cross-Functional Collaboration**
- Partner with Product Management, Program Delivery, Customer Support, Cyber Security and CloudOps to align development and delivery with business needs.
- Collaborate across regions to drive global consistency and efficiency.

**Skills, Knowledge and Expertise**:

- Expertise in DevOps, test automation, quality engineering and CI/CD pipelines.
- Practical experience with cloud-based platforms, with a strong preference for AWS, and a thorough understanding of SaaS architectures.
- Experience with AWS core services, Kubernetes (K8s), containerization technologies (Docker), container registries (e.g., AWS ECR, Docker Hub) and infrastructure as code tools (Terraform and Helm are essential).
- Strong familiarity with scripting and programming languages relevant to DevOps, including Java, Python, Groovy, Bash, and/or PowerShell.
- Experience leading within an Agile environment with a strong delivery focus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence across technical and non-technical teams.
- A deep curiosity about how systems work internally and a proactive approach to understanding and troubleshooting underlying technologies.
