With multiple locations across Canberra and Australia, this Government Agency is responsible for supporting a better life for thousands of Australians and their families. Due to new government funding, this centralised office in the heart of Canberra, has the opportunity for an APS5 Project Officer to join this high performing team and office to help move the department to support more and more Australians.

**Your new role**
***
Project work in a fast paced environment in is your domain. Working within a wider team, you will be responsible for assisting in project management and coordination activities along with reviewing the activities against the program plan. A normal day for you in this role you will include:

- Contributing to the development and management of project plans and schedules
- Performing research work and analysis to contribute to the preparation of reports
- Drafting written material including business cases, plans executive briefs and corporate documentation for review
- Assisting with project budgets, along with support the procurement team and contract management

As you will be engaging and collaborating with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally, well-developed communication skills with the ability to foster professional relationships whilst building rapport and trust is a must.

**What you'll need to succeed**

You’ll have a passion for project delivery. Your previous experience supporting the implementation of projects, in either a Government or Private sector setting, will contribute to this leading Government Department and your success. To thrive in this environment, you will also have:

- Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with a variety of stakeholders
- Experience in writing and developing reports, briefs and other written correspondence
- An understanding of tracking and reporting on project milestones
- The ability to work with existing and new innovative IT systems
- Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment

This client requires the applicant to be an Australian Citizen, and be able to complete the departments pre-engagement screening checks.
