**Your Responsibilities**:

- Research and identify new accessories and hard goods for pets, including but not limited to toys, furniture, beds, carriers, and other essential items.
- Evaluate potential suppliers and manufacturers based on quality, price, reliability, and ethical standards.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to ensure competitive advantage and profitability.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Collaborate with the inventory management team to ensure timely replenishment and minimise stockouts.
- Analyse sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for product expansion or discontinuation.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and vendors.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers to address issues, resolve disputes, and negotiate favorable terms.
- Continuously evaluate supplier performance and seek opportunities for improvement or optimization.
- Stay abreast of market trends, consumer preferences, and industry developments in the pet accessories and hard goods sector.
- Analyze competitor offerings and pricing strategies to identify competitive threats and opportunities.
- Utilize market insights to inform product assortment decisions and pricing strategies.

**Your Ideal Skills and Experience**:

- 5+yrs in a buying / merchandise role
- A solid understanding of the e-commerce landscape, including online retail platforms, digital marketing strategies, and consumer behaviour in the pet accessories market.
- In-depth knowledge of pet accessories, including trends, materials, manufacturing processes, and quality standards. This includes familiarity with a wide range of products such as toys,, apparel, bedding, and more.
- Experience in sourcing and negotiating with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure competitive pricing, quality control, and timely delivery of products.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret sales data, track performance metrics, and make data-driven decisions to optimize product assortment and pricing strategies.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with cross-functional teams such as marketing, merchandising, and customer service to align on product assortment and promotional strategies.
- A customer-centric mindset with a deep understanding of pet owners' needs, preferences, and purchasing behaviors to ensure that product offerings meet or exceed customer expectations.
