**The Opportunity**
The Regulation Directorate sits within the Transport Policy and Regulation Division and is responsible for driving the Government’s regulation and policy initiatives and ensuring appropriate compliance, behaviour and safe access across our transport networks.
The Licence Regulation Coordinator is responsible for providing leadership and coordinating various functions and activities associated with the administration of the _Motor Vehicles Act 1959_ and _Road Traffic Act 1961_ as they relate to driver licensing.
Accountable to the Licence Regulation Manager, the role assists in the provision of strategic and administrative management of the Department’s licence regulation functions. The role provides leadership and guidance to Licence Regulation staff to ensure consistent and integrated high-quality day to day delivery of technical, operational and administrative services, as well as providing expert operational knowledge and support to internal and external clients and stakeholders.
The role also assists in reviewing, developing and overseeing the implementation of licensing management systems, processes and procedures, as well as identifying and implementing process improvements to reduce manual transaction processing and reduce overall business complexity.
**About You**
You will also need to demonstrate the ability to work independently or within a team, set priorities, and make well-informed decisions under tight deadlines. Effective communication, both written and verbal, including negotiation and conflict resolution with staff and stakeholders, is also crucial.
**Special Conditions**
- A National Police Check (NPC) which must be renewed every three years.
- A Department for Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (WWCC) which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel may be required.
**Tenure of Vacancy**
Temporary appointment up to 12 months.
**Remuneration**
ASO5 - $85,790 to $95,413 pa + superannuation.
