Coolum State High School is located just north of the community of Coolum Beach. It is situated in an idyllic setting surrounded by National Park and is in close proximity to local beaches. The region's natural beauty complements the culture of learning, care, respect and the pursuit of excellence contained within its walls. The school was established in 1985 and services the Coolum Beach and Peregian Beach communities. With current enrolment of more than 1500 students with diverse learning styles, our educational programs are designed to develop a love of learning and to prepare them as valuable community members and constructive global citizens.

**About the Role**:
**As the Head of Department, you will**:

- Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
- Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
- Be futures oriented and strategic.
