An exciting opportunity exists for a talented and highly dynamic individual to join the Office of the Deputy Secretary in the Economic Policy and State Productivity Group as Policy Adviser at the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
The Office of the Deputy Secretary, Economic Policy & State Productivity Group supports the Deputy Secretary in the daily operation of the Group, including the movement of policy advice and briefs and the coordination of information between the Office and the group.
The Policy Adviser works closely with the Office to support the development of high-quality strategic advice for the Deputy Secretary, including written material and verbal briefings. The Policy Adviser is required to develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders across the group and the department, to ensure timely advice can be sought when needed to deliver on the work of the Office.
To be considered for this role, you should have strong conceptual and analytical skills and the ability to provide high quality advice in a time-pressured environment. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with EPSP branches and other DPC areas.
**About you**
- Demonstrated ability to provide authoritative, high quality and timely advice on public and economic policy, considering both the strategic and operational contexts in complex environments.
- Highly-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability influence and negotiate effectively and to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, with a proven track record of preparing clear, evidence based recommendations that influence decisions.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture, including supporting others in achieving common goals, providing feedback and guidance when necessary.
