Are you passionate about risk, data governance and assurance? NSW Fair Trading has an exciting ongoing opportunity, to support a data governance uplift that enhances security, compliance and data accessibility. The Data Governance Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, consistency, and security of the organisation’s data assets. The Data Governance team sits within the Regulatory Intelligence, Data Management and Reporting division of NSW Fair Trading Operations.

**About the team**

The Data team is a highly motivated and friendly team committed to making a difference through meaningful work. Our team provides advice, guidance, and support to embed robust practices and ensure compliance with relevant Privacy, Data Governance and Records Management legislation and policy across NSW Fair Trading Operations.

**In this role you will**:

- An understanding of the principles of statistical analysis and data management activities including data validation, editing, imputation and experience with relational databases
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with business units and other project stakeholders
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Practical experience and knowledge of data analytics and reporting, data sharing agreements and arrangements, governance, compliance and assurance

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work collaboratively as a part of a team
- Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks and deliverables

- Data Governance knowledge and experience, including the ability to develop practical standards, processes and guidance to define how data is governed, managed and used.

**Essential requirements**:

- It is a requirement of this role to obtain and hold baseline security clearance. For this purpose you must be an Australian Citizen.
- Satisfactory criminal record check
