Data Governance Analyst – Sydney-Based Role

We're looking for a proactive and detail-driven
Data Governance Analyst
to support the design and implementation of their enterprise data governance framework. You'll play a key role in ensuring the companies data is accurate, secure, and aligned with regulatory and business requirements enabling confident decision-making across the organisation.

What You'll be doing:

  • Support the rollout of data governance policies, standards, and processes.
  • Collaborate with data owners, stewards, and technical teams to define and maintain data definitions, lineage, and quality rules.
  • Monitor data quality metrics and help resolve issues through root cause analysis and remediation planning.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of data governance tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Informatica).
  • Contribute to data classification, access controls, and compliance initiatives (e.g., APRA).
  • Help drive awareness and adoption of data governance practices across the business.

What you bring:

  • 2–4 years' experience in data governance, data quality, or data management roles.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA, DCAM) and metadata management concepts.
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and a passion for clean, well-structured data.
  • Excellent communication skills able to work across business and technical teams.
  • Experience with data governance or cataloguing tools is a plus.
