About the Role & Key Responsibilities
**Summary **Masada College is seeking to appoint a School Counsellor or Psychologist to meet the
individuals who possess a genuine commitment to nurturing the well-being of young
learners in our Junior School at Masada College.
We are seeking a qualified Counsellor / Psychologist to assist in the Student Wellbeing
Programs of the School with a particular emphasis on the Junior School (Years ELC to
Year 6).
valued member of the Academic Care team as well as interns from universities,the Head
of Academic Care in the Junior School and Teaching staff.
**Role**
**Accountabilities**
- appropriate counselling qualifications at a tertiary level with current
membership to a relevant professional body / association
- evidence of success and some experiences in a current role
- previous experience counselling children / young people and families
- previous group work / therapy experience working with children
- collaborative, innovative and effective practice in a related context
- ability to participate and contribute to Individual Educational Planning
meetings
- ability to participate in and deliver relevant professional learning sessions to
staff
- highly relational interpersonal skills with staff, students and parents
- a demonstrated capacity to work as a wider school team member
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- meticulous notes and record keeping
- flexibility and interest in working in an innovative and dynamic environment
- ICT skills across a range of platforms
- support the Jewish ethos of the College
- The following would be advantageous:
- experience in a school setting
- experience and passion for working with children across a wide age
range (3 years to 12 years of age.)
