**Your role**
This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference, work in a high-performing team and learn what policy does.
You will undertake research and develop a range of policy initiatives and projects working alongside Aboriginal Community Housing Providers (ACHPs) to strengthen the sector and deliver better outcomes for the Aboriginal community.
**What you’ll do**
- The role will consist of developing strategic policies that guide program and service development to address the needs of the AHO client groups.
- Undertake aspects of project reform or reviews to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of service delivery and inform policy development.
- Research and prepare advice in the form of briefs, policy and discussion papers to contribute to responses to Ministerial, Cabinet, AHO or DCJ requests.
- Deliver on assigned projects and processes within agreed upon deadlines and quality standards.
- Support and contribute to work planning and resource alignment.
- Liaise and work across AHO and DCJ Divisions and non-government stakeholders to ensure effective interface between program development, planning, service design and policy implementation.
- Work effectively with team members towards mutual continued development and to provide feedback to each other on policy research and analysis undertaken.
**What we’re looking for**
- An experienced Policy/Project Officer proficient in developing comprehensive policy responses and ability to take into consideration research and analysis from various sources with diverse interests.
- Ability to manage complex and multiple issues with sensitivity to resource requirements, business impacts and relationships with stakeholders.
- A self-starter who can make balanced decisions.
- You are driven by deadlines and pay attention to detail.
- National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
- Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012
