**About the Role**

St Catherine of Siena School is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced **Learning Support Officer (LSO)** to join our committed team.

The successful applicant will support students with additional learning and behavioural needs, working under the direction of the **Learning Diversity Leader** and in collaboration with classroom teachers. The role involves contributing to an inclusive and supportive educational environment where all students are empowered to succeed.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide individual and small-group support to students with diverse learning needs.
- Assist teachers in implementing personalised learning adjustments and behaviour support strategies.
- Establish positive, respectful, and trusting relationships with students to enhance engagement and wellbeing.
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and specialists to support the holistic development of each learner.
- Contribute actively to the inclusive and faith-based ethos of St Margaret’s Primary School.

**Selection Criteria**

The successful applicant will:

- Demonstrate a strong commitment to the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
- Exhibit a passion for supporting children with additional learning or behavioural needs.
- Display patience, empathy, and professionalism in interactions with students, staff, and families.
- Possess strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Hold relevant qualifications in Education Support (Certificate III or IV) or Disability Support (or be working towards completion).
- Have experience in a Learning Support or Teacher Assistant role within a primary school setting (preferred).

**Mandatory Requirements**
- Current **Working With Children Check (WWCC)** - valid as of 27 January 2026.
- Current **National Police Check** - valid as of 27 January 2026.
- Commitment to child safety and to the implementation of the school’s Child Safe Standards and policies.
- Legal right to work in Australia (visa sponsorship not available).
