The Practice collaborates with clients, communities, stakeholders, and Hatch’s engineering teams to create mutually beneficial and sustainable infrastructure, metals, and energy projects. In a practice that is growing, you will be part of Hatch’s Community Engagement and Social Performance (CESP) team within the Environmental and Sustainability (E&S) Practice. The team’s main objective is to collaborate with clients, communities, stakeholders, and Hatch’s engineering teams to create mutually beneficial and sustainable metals, energy, and infrastructure projects. Hatch is currently seeking to recruit a** Principal, Cultural Engagement Specialist** to be an integral part of a growing practice. The role will report to the Director Community Engagement and Social Performance, Australia and Asia. You will be the technical Cultural Engagement expert responsible for leading projects across Australia with opportunities to also participate in global initiatives.
In this role, you will act autonomously as a key company contact point for communication and engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, assist clients to partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples to facilitate the codesign and implementation of culturally safe and appropriate models of engagement and support clients to identify and progress benefits realisation opportunities through proactive partnerships, and social investment and livelihood initiatives.

Additional accountabilities of the Principal Indigenous Engagement Specialist are:

- Maintain highly effective stakeholder relations for cultural heritage delivery tracking compliance against agreements and associated reports.
- Support the development of local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment and procurement plans and assist clients to facilitate the development of education, training, and business development partnerships with Indigenous Peoples, communities, other organisations, and government entities.
- Record, research, identify and anticipate any Indigenous relations risks to project development and
