What will you do?

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Electrical Technical Officer to join the Power Transmission and Distribution team within Aurecon’s Queensland Energy Business. You will join our diverse, award-winning team who foster a learning culture that is underpinned by technical excellence and a reputation for quality. Reporting to the Substation Team Lead, the position’s key focus will be to:

- Support the substation electrical design team to deliver project deliverables in a timely and accurate manner
- Report project progress to Design Team Leader and Project Managers on a regular basis
- Utilise innovative technologies to increase accuracy and productivity on projects
- Search for innovative ideas and concepts to further improve delivery processes for the business
- Follow company and client drafting standards and requirements

What can you bring to the team?

Firstly, you will share our genuine passion for re-imagining engineering and be someone that actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future. You will possess a tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, significant experience supporting large-scale Water & Wastewater projects and a strong design background.
- Demonstrable proven track record in delivery of drawings for substation secondary systems projects
- Experience with primary substation design, 11 kV and above (3D or 2D) is highly beneficial but not mandatory
- Experience using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD would be ideal
- Tertiary qualifications such as Advanced Diploma, Associate Degree or equivalent within the Electrical discipline preferred or 5+ years of design experience

- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Possess strong commitment to team environment dynamics with the ability to contribute expertise and follow leadership directives at appropriate times
