- The opportunity
- We currently have a rare opportunity for a Controlling Analyst to join our Finance & Controlling team based in our Mulgrave head office. Reporting to the Head of Controlling, you will be working in our three key areas within the team: Sales Controlling, Cost Controlling and Portfolio Risk Management. The core focus of this role is to support and be accountable for reporting and data analysis for the Controlling Department and continuously drive improvement and automation of existing processes and reporting.
- We are a diverse team, with our members possessing different skillsets, which for the successful applicant will provide an opportunity to learn and contribute to the success of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services.
- This position will provide exposure not only to the exciting developments within Finance & Controlling but also Sales & Marketing, Insurance, Credit & Operations, IT and our Sales Partner.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Independent execution of month end tasks and reporting
- Proactively drive process improvement and automation
- Sales, cost of funds and margin analysis including financial calculations such as loan repayments and commissions
- Cost Controlling, including cost centre monitoring & FTE reporting
- Portfolio performance analysis and reporting
- Data extraction, analysis, simulation and presentation of regular and ad-hoc business topics
- Monthly preparation of forecasts and annual business planning
- Support with procurement i.e. approval of purchase request against budget plans and service level agreements

- Most importantly, we are seeking a positive and pro-active analyst, who will make the most of this opportunity to utilize their analytical skills, and has the ability to manage multiple high priority tasks. Along with a passion for providing exceptional service and talent to build strong stakeholder relationships, this role requires a confident problem-solver with exceptional attention to detail whilst keeping the “big picture” in mind and the curiosity to discover the why.
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce/Business/Finance/Data/IT
- 3 years minimum experience within Finance, Banking, Portfolio Risk Management, Data, or IT
- Proven ability to extract data, conduct financial analysis, translate data to non-finance stakeholders and tell the story
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- SQL and database query skills (writing & modifying scripts)
- Experience with data visualization/dashboard tools such as PowerBI preferred
- Experience using TM1 Cognos or equivalent system
- Experience using Python preferred
- Experience using Power Query ideal
