**About Chancellery Research and Enterprise**
The Chancellery (Research and Enterprise) (CRE) portfolio within the Chancellery Division is led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) (DVCR) and works in partnership with Faculties to achieve the University’s ambitions for research and innovation, as articulated in Advancing Melbourne 2030.

**About the Role**
As the Research Strategy Project Officer, you will work closely with internal stakeholders to support the development of research impact and translation initiatives. You will coordinate the implementation and management of key projects and initiatives with a focus on research translation and impact. Providing high-quality administrative support will be a key function of this role and will see you undertake varied project and committee work, in an area of strategic importance to the University. Examples include support for the University’s participation in Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) and Excellence in Impact Assessment exercises.

Responsibilities include:

- Conducting research and analysis to prepare reports, correspondence, briefing notes and presentations for the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research), the Pro Vice Chancellors, Executive Director, Research Strategy and other senior colleagues as requested
- Coordinating strategic research impact communications, initiatives, supports, assessments, events and training programs, reports and advice in relation to governance, reporting and policy matters.
- Working closely with colleagues in faculties and shared services to design and implement improved processes for managing and reporting impact initiatives, in order to accelerate the impact of the University’s research

**About You**

You are results and solutions-focused, with the capacity to identify strategic risks, and exercise sound judgement when preparing and proposing solutions. As a team player, you support your colleagues and regularly contribute to a wide variety of projects. You will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and your flexible nature enables you to quickly adapt your communication style based on your audience.

To be successful in this role, you will also have:

- A degree level qualification with subsequent relevant work-related experience or equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills (including report writing, correspondence, preparation of presentations) and the ability to understand complex issues, develop concise reports and liaise effectively with key internal and external stakeholders
- Proven ability to coordinate a range of administrative/project activities and support to senior staff with a capacity to exercise sound judgement, diplomacy and discretion and a demonstrated ability to handle information in a confidential and appropriate manner
