**The opportunity**

Looking for a career in payroll or to continue your current payroll journey? We are looking for a Payroll Assistant to join our Australia Payroll team located in Perth.

Essentially the role is to support Australian payroll processing, currently a shared role between our teams based in Christchurch and Perth, Australia.

Day to day tasks include:

- Assist the Senior Payroll team member with the fortnightly payroll and the associated post payroll functions as assigned for New Zealand and Australia.
- Provide support and full back-up to the Senior Payroll team member in relation to the operation of the payroll system as required.
- Through the On Boarding process, ensure all HR forms are completed, returned, and loaded into payroll.
- Work with the HR Team to ensure that HRIS records are kept up to date and are accurate.
- Contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the payroll processes and systems and assist in the implementation of any improvements.
- Maintain the online Payroll filing.
- Any other payroll tasks requested from time to time by Stantec leadership.

**About you**

The key components below provide an overview. However, we are looking for the right person so if you are highly organised, good with numbers/data, and looking for a career in payroll or to extend your payroll skills, this opportunity could be for you
- Payroll experience, preferred but not essential
- PayGlobal experience or exposure to a payroll software preferred
- Australia payroll experience, not essential but desirable

Numeracy and analytical skills are vital, and an intermediate level in Microsoft products, particularly Excel is required, with a strong focus on attention to detail.
