Disability Support Worker

**About the role**:
Our wonderful Client is seeking well-rounded Disability Support Workers to join his team. If you enjoy supporting an individual to live their best life, then this would be a great opportunity for you

The role will involve assisting our Client with accessing the community. Public transport will mainly be used for accessing the community, however you may need to drive the client’s vehicle from time to time so an open driver licence is preferred. Our Client also uses a wheelchair, so experience with manual handling including hoisting is a must.

We are looking for Disability Support Workers who can assist with a few shifts per week from 10am to 6pm.

**The above award base hourly rate for weekdays between the hours of 6am to 8pm is $31.96/hr plus penalty rates for qualifying shifts. Please note pay rates are set and not negotiable.**

You will have support in your role via a comprehensive care plan and support from our awesome Support Specialist team.

- To deliver high quality support to our Clients in the capacity they require, the exact way they would like it delivered
- Communicate effectively and collaborate for our Clients needs with our Clients, team & Support Specialist
- Understand, follow instructions, and be responsive to our Clients needs
- Provide support to our Clients as required
- Have good rapport building skills and a gentle, encouraging manner
- Be reliable and flexible to fill shifts when required
- Have an interest in building a respectful relationship with our Clients
- To support our Clients to achieve their NDIS Goals
- **To be Successful you must **_
- Resonate with the role description above
- Hold NDIS worker screening or yellow card (or willingness to obtain)
- Hold or be willing to obtain a blue card
- Hold Certificate III in disability or related fields (preferred)
- Have evidence of eligibility and right to work in Australia
- Have a genuine desire to positively change people's lives
- Hold a police check or be willing to obtain
- Manual handling and hoisting experience required
- Catheter care experience preferred
- Open driver licence preferred

**Salary**: $30.00 - $39.99 per hour
