**About the role**:
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a diverse and rewarding job sector and to gain flexibility and control in the way you work. You choose the time, day and hours you want to work and the type of work you want to do. You can choose to work 2 hours a week or more. Weejah offers amazing flexibility. Please note that this is a part time role offering between 2-10 hours a week currently.

The Care Work role supports people to live with dignity and foster a sense of enablement and independence. However, the most important part of your role is to maintain social interaction. You will be responsible for providing person centered support to the elderly. You can work a little or a lot, depending on the available work meeting your needs.

Key responsibilities will be:

- Undertaking domestic assistance, including, but not limited to, cleaning and light housework.
- Providing social support and transportation assisting members to participate in their community and attend appointments.
- Shopping companionship/support
- Providing support in the kitchen through light meal preparation
- Personal care (if you have a Certificate III)

Location

Your work location will be up to you, as you will be able to choose how far you would like to travel to undertake support for members. We do, however, expect you will be able to travel within your local government area.

MUST HAVE:

- Full Australian or International Covid Vaccination Certificate including boosters.
- Evidence of First Aid and CPR certificate or equivalent
- Evidence of Manual Handling certificate or equivalent (Weejah offers Manual Handling training through an education partner for a highly competitive rate. Manual Handling training can take as little as 1.5 hours and can be done online).
- Right to work in Australia
- Ability to work for yourself (you will need an ABN and insurance)
- Possess or be willing to obtain prior to starting, an Australian National Criminal Check
- A Working with Children Check
- Access to and ability to use a smart phone & internet with basic computer skills.
- Have a professional approach, be reliable, compassionate, and highly motivated,
- Have excellent communication skills

Nice to have:

- Possess or be willing to obtain if selected, an Aged Care Certificate
- Level 3, or equivalent
- 6-12 months experience working in an aged care or home care setting
- Your own reliable and fully insured vehicle
- Valid Driver’s License for the state you live in

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 2-10 per week

**Salary**: $34.40 - $83.20 per hour
