The Specialist is a key member of the Capability and Assurance team within the Strategic Planning, Finance and Performance branch. This role works closely with the Manager, Capability and Assurance to support Program Management Office (PMO) functions and the delivery of objectives under AUSTRAC’s Capability Enhancement Program.

The Capability and Assurance team works collaboratively to develop and implement agency-wide Program and Portfolio management strategies. The role is critical in developing and innovating processes, systems and secretariat services to enhance corporate governance.

**Duties**

The Specialist, Capability and Assurance, under limited supervision is responsible for:

- Supporting Program Management Office (PMO) functions within the Capability and Assurance section, including supporting project teams in the development of their project roadmaps, project reports, register of risks, issues, decisions and benefits in line with AUSTRAC governance framework.
- Supporting elements of the AUSTRAC Capability Program Assurance process, including coordination of program and project budget reporting.
- Supporting external review and reporting processes and providing advice and input to enhance the program governance and reporting framework.
- Supporting the integration of program planning with strategic planning and performance and financial planning and performance.
- Providing specialist assistance in project management, assurance and risk management, to ensure the agency effectively identifies, assesses and appropriately treats its key areas of risk.
- Providing general advice to delivery managers and business unit managers on project planning, assurance, risk management or related activities.
- Providing secretarial services to both the Capability Sub-Committee and REST Program Board.
