Are you a dog lover with a passion for grooming? We’re seeking a dedicated Groomer Assistant to join our team and help pamper our furry friends. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a minimum of 12 months of animal handling experience to kickstart their grooming career.

Located in a home-based salon in Harrington Park, we’re dedicated to providing top-quality grooming services to our furry friends. At PPR, we specialize in pampering small breeds weighing up to 12kg, creating a calm and inviting atmosphere for both pets and their families. With our head groomer’s expertise in pet styling, you’re joining a passionate team committed to ensuring a positive and safe grooming experience for every dog.

About The Role:
As the Assistant Dog Groomer at PPR, you’ll work closely with our head groomer, providing valuable support and assistance in all grooming tasks. Your responsibilities will include:

- Welcoming and assisting customers with check-ins and check-outs, delivering personalized and friendly service.
- Creating a relaxed environment and building trusting relationships with each dog.
- Bathing, drying, brushing, and de-shedding dogs to maintain their coat’s health and cleanliness.
- Trimming and filing nails.
- Conducting hygiene clips as needed (training will be provided).
- Maintaining a clean grooming environment through sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces and tools.

This is a casual position, with an expected workload of a minimum of 2 days per week. You’ll have the opportunity to learn and grow under the guidance of our head groomer, contributing to a positive and supportive work environment. We offer an attractive hourly rate ranging between $30-34/h for casuals.

**Requirements**:
To excel in this role, you’ll need:

- Availability with flexibility to work Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays as needed.
- Preferably, at least 1 year of professional animal handling experience.
- Confidence in handling small dogs of various temperaments in a grooming setting.
- Ability to identify and respond appropriately to dog behaviors and body language.
- A passion for working with animals and a desire to develop relevant skills and qualifications.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients.
- Attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- And, of course, a genuine love for dogs (especially smaller breeds)
