Are you a dog lover with a passion for grooming? We’re seeking a dedicated Groomer Assistant to join our team and help pamper our furry friends. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a minimum of 12 months of animal handling experience to kickstart their grooming career.

Welcome to Puppy Powder Room (PPR), where our love for dogs is at the heart of everything we do. Located in a home-based salon in Harrington Park, we’re dedicated to providing top-quality grooming services to our furry friends. At PPR, we specialize in pampering small breeds weighing up to 12kg, creating a calm and inviting atmosphere for both pets and their families. With our head groomer’s expertise in pet styling, you’re joining a passionate team committed to ensuring a positive and safe grooming experience for every dog.

About The Role:
As the Assistant Dog Groomer at PPR, you’ll work closely with our head groomer, providing valuable support and assistance in all grooming tasks. Your responsibilities will include:

- Welcoming and assisting customers with check-ins and check-outs, delivering personalized and friendly service.
- Creating a relaxed environment and building trusting relationships with each dog.
- Bathing, drying, brushing, and de-shedding dogs to maintain their coat’s health and cleanliness.
- Trimming and filing nails.
- Conducting hygiene clips as needed (training will be provided).
- Maintaining a clean grooming environment through sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces and tools.

This is a casual position, with an expected workload of a minimum of 2 days per week. You’ll have the opportunity to learn and grow under the guidance of our head groomer, contributing to a positive and supportive work environment. We offer an attractive hourly rate ranging between $30-34/h for casuals.

**Requirements**:
To excel in this role, you’ll need:

- Availability with flexibility to work Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays as needed.
- Preferably, at least 1 year of professional animal handling experience.
- Confidence in handling small dogs of various temperaments in a grooming setting.
- Ability to identify and respond appropriately to dog behaviors and body language.
- A passion for working with animals and a desire to develop relevant skills and qualifications.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients.
- Attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- And, of course, a genuine love for dogs (especially smaller breeds)
