The Procurement and Contract Management Group delivers on Queensland Corrective Services' priorities, needs, and objectives through partnering with QCS business units in the delivery of procurement support and advice over the procurement lifecycle.

**In this role you will**:

- Lead, manage, and continue to build a high-performing team of procurement professionals working broadly across procurement categories.
- Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of Agency procurement plans, policies, processes, and templates, data extraction, and analysis, consistent with Government policy and procurement best practice.
- Provide a supportive environment where team members strive to provide high quality and timely services, and contribute to a culture championing customer focus, procurement best practice and information sharing.
- Actively manage individual and team performance and provide supportive leadership to develop a sustainable and capable procurement workforce.
- Provide expert advice to internal and external stakeholders, committees and boards on procurement, operational and contracting issues.
- Manage a small team of professional governance officers and prepare high level policy papers, submissions, briefs, and reports on complex procurement and contracts related issues and initiatives.
- Manage internal procurement key performance measures and reporting requirements on behalf of the Agency.
- Actively develop and manage internal and external stakeholder relationships including the PCMG extended leadership team, internal stakeholders, suppliers, industry, peer organisations and public sector bodies.
- Monitor internal controls of procurement activities across the Agency and implement strategies to raise compliance levels and improve procurement outcomes through education and support.
- Lead the development and delivery of procurement training.
- Establish communication channels with internal stakeholders to promote and raise awareness of Agency procurement policies, targets, and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) responsibilities.
- Contribute to a high level of professional practice in PCMG by maintaining currency of knowledge of contemporary procurement strategies, policies and practices and an awareness of Government priorities and initiatives that have implications for the procurement function.
- Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of the strategic direction of the Agency and emergent issues that may impact the Agency's procurement policies and procedures.
- Provide mentoring, guidance, development opportunities, on-the-job training, and advice to PCMG team members and stakeholders across the Agency.
- Build and sustain internal and external stakeholder relationships including the PCMG extended leadership team, internal stakeholders, suppliers, industry, peer organisations and actively participate in reference groups for relevant Whole of Government and Agency-led initiations.
- Research and prepare submissions, reports, briefing materials, and correspondence and provide expert analysis and advice to senior management and key stakeholders on matters relating to the procurement function.
- Promote the Agency, PCMG and its services across various networks within the procurement community, government and within industry for the betterment of PCMG.
