**The Opportunity**:
NewCold, a pioneer in automated cold storage and logistic solutions, is seeking an Import Export Container Planner for its Melbourne operations. The Planner's responsibility is to plan and prioritise import and export containers to ensure customer orders are met and imports are received in a timely manner, administer the loading/unloading of containers in a timely manner to meet transportation deadlines whilst avoiding demurrage and/or detention charges, and responsible for day-to-day trip planning and coordination of import and export containers.

**Task and Responsibilities**:

- Collect, process, and analyses day-to-day import/export operation data, including shipment details, container schedules, timeslots, delivery information, and carrier performance.
- Prepare weekly volume forecast for shipment volumes, container utilization, and demand patterns.
- Maintain records of shipment activity for the company and analyses the data to identify
- areas for improvement and cost savings.
- Identify opportunities to better optimize the workflow of import/export operation for the business, customers, and carriers to reduce costs and improve delivery times and handling.
- Identify inefficiencies in container allocation and propose solutions to enhance productivity and reduce times.
- Analyse costs to evaluate impact of proposed container utilization recommendations to ensure container operations efficiently and effectively.
- Proactively identify potential risks in container operations and advise measures to
- mitigate them to stakeholders, such as unavailability of loading and unloading space, insufficient on-site storage, and maintenance breakdown.
- Collect information from forwarders and carriers regarding potential transportation
- and vessel delays that may impact customers and take proactive measures to address them and ensure key priorities are met.
- Collect and monitor delivery information from carriers regularly to assess carrier
- performance towards customer and organizational goals and report weekly progress of carriers.
- Ensure full compliance in international regulations related to import/export
- documentation, and customs requirements in container operations.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, such as Department of Agriculture and Water Resources to ensure full compliance with statutory requirements and provide accurate documents if required.
- Analyse weekly cost and handle reports to identify opportunities to reduce costs and
- ensure the company is operating efficiently and effectively.

**Salary**: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
