**About the role**:
In this role you will be pro-actively supporting a designated ledger of Ampol’s 70,000+ active Customer base and work with other internal stakeholders to ensure that monies owed from Ampol’s monthly sales are paid on or ahead of time; and work reactively to identify delinquent accounts and arrange prompt payment of outstanding debt whilst retaining Customer loyalty and a strong Customer relationship.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensure customer payment terms are appropriately setup in the relevant systems
- Support the creation of bespoke reporting solutions to support on time payments
- Perform pro-active collections activities for Customers/Merchants who have a history of late payment or who have been identified as a potential credit risk
- Reconcile accounts to clarify or confirm overdue amounts
- Make outbound collection calls and draft written communications to Customers/Merchants who are overdue or whose payment has been dishonoured
- Process adjustments to Customer accounts in accordance with authorised requests
- Process payments and investigate unallocated monies sitting on accounts/banking GLs

**About you**:
You will be a strong team player with proven ability to motivate and achieve team goals while working autonomously.

As a problem solver, you will demonstrate the ability to understand business requirements, assess needs, provide advice to relevant stakeholders.

As a strong communicator, you will build effective relationships to ensure a high level of collaboration is maintained across the business.

**Key skills and experience**:

- Tertiary qualification in Finance or relevant discipline preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a accounts, collections, credit, or complaints unit in a service industry e.g., financial services, government, hospitality, or retail
- Outbound debt collecting experience
- Willingness to learn complex new skills
- verbal and written communication skills including the ability to provide input into reports
- Self-disciplined and determined
- Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
- Highly developed communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suites
