Heavy Vehicle Driver

Ron Finemore Transport is looking for experienced full-time Heavy Vehicle Truck drivers in the Albury / Wodonga, Wagga, Orange & Goulburn areas.
**Your key responsibilities**:
- Safely & legally transport goods & products using company specified & supplied heavy vehicle to designated customer sites
- Predominantly interstate & long-distance driving
- Responsible for management and condition of heavy vehicle, its state of roadworthiness, along with security & integrity of the loaded goods while driving safely & legally based on road and traffic conditions
- Assess the condition of the vehicle before, during & after all trips
- Assess the nature of the loaded goods & ensure they are positioned and restrained correctly as per the National Load Restraint guidelines & that any temperature control requirements are within the required range.
- Assess the mass of the vehicle & goods are safe, legal & compliant
- Assess the assigned trip can be completed safely allowing for suitable rest breaks & not exceeding the relevant speed limits
- Maintain a suitable level of fitness and wellbeing to ensure fitness for duty before & during any trip
- Communicate with and assist RFT staff, customers & regulators both during normal interactions & when any disruption or emergency occurs
- Interact & engage with a range of in-cab and trailer technology to meet contractual requirements and ensure safe, legal & compliant driving & control of product.
- Strong understanding and commitment to safety
- Liaising with customers with a friendly and professional attitude
- Completion of all paperwork on time and in full
- Driving in a time-sensitive environment
- Refuelling and maintaining cleanliness of allocated equipment
- Promptly report any mechanical faults, delivery issues or delays
- Reading and following procedures and relevant work instructions
- Submitting log-book pages to compliance team time-to-time

**Skills and Experience required**:
- Suitable experience in operating & driving a heavy vehicle including commercial driving & skills in manoeuvring vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations
- Experience with in-cab equipment technology such as computer tablets, setting & monitoring temperature control equipment & electronic communication
- Heavy Vehicle HC or MC licence
- Minimum of 12 months good driving record
- Must have ability to read, write & perform simple mathematical ability to handle receipts, read maps, road signs, maintain logs, complete load documentation, etc.
- Suitable knowledge to activate & engage vehicle systems including adaptive cruise control, engine braking systems & Guardian safety system
- Must be able to sit & remain alert while driving
- Must be able to enter & exit the vehicles cab up to 10 times per day, perform occasional squatting & crouching to handle & position freight
- All positions will have some weekend work
- All applicants must be able to work to a roster
- Ability to work within an established Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) system
