TAL has recently completed the acquisition of Westpac Banking Corp’s life insurance business. The acquisition allows TAL to strengthen its position as the largest insurer in Australia and will provide expanded opportunities for its business and its people. Importantly, it will also ensure we continue to deliver the best possible outcomes for our customers, partners and stakeholders.

The deal also includes an exclusive long-term 20-year strategic alliance through which TAL will provide life insurance products and services to Westpac’s existing customers and partners.

**Job Description**:
As a Data Modeller you will:

- Create logical and physical data models using best practices to ensure high data quality and reduced redundancy;
- Work with the Information Management team to implement data strategies, build data flows and develop conceptual data models;
- Develop best practice for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models;
- Understand and translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions;
- Work closely with project teams to meet delivery expectations and provide enterprise level viewof data models to establish a common
- approach across enterprise
- Improve data modelling capability by standardizing every day tasks by utilizing the existing tool kit and maintaining scripts that are created
- for this prpose
- Work with existing team to uplift their knowledge and capabilities in this space
- Work closely with data governance team to support data management activities including data classification, metadata management
- Contribute to the existing standards and improve where applicable
- Optimise and update logical and physical data models to support new and existing projects;Maintain conceptual, logical and physical data
- models along with corresponding metadata;
- Recommend opportunities for reuse of data models in new environments;Analyse data-related system integration challenges and propose appropriate solutions.

**Qualifications**:
Key Attributes Essential
- Srong modelling knowledge with multiple methodologies (3NF, dimensional)
- Good undertsanding of domain modelling as well as logical and physical modelling
- Experiencewith data warehouse design, good understanding of different layers in a data platform such as integration and presentation
- Experience with ER studio (preferably), ERWIN or similar
- Familiarity with data governance activities and ability to contribute to the standards and processes from modelling perspective
- Pesentation skills to present data models in architectural forums for endorsment
- Experience with Azure enironment
- Ability to work across multiple teams and different projcets at the same time
- Good communication skills
