**The Opportunity**:
The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a Parliamentary Service Level 4 Broadcasting Infrastructure and Support Cabling Specialist within Digital Recording Services Branch.
An opportunity exists to join the Broadcasting Infrastructure and Support team, responsible for maintaining, supporting and renewing broadcasting facilities working for the Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) at Australian Parliament House.
Parliamentary Broadcasting produces and distributes live audio and video coverage of all proceedings of the two chambers and the Federation Chamber, televises selected parliamentary proceedings in Parliament House and provides audio coverage of hearings held in other venues around Australia as well as multimedia and audio-visual services within Parliament House.
Broadcast Infrastructure and Support officers are also responsible for key building-wide systems including Emergency Warning and Intercommunications Systems (EWIS) and the synchronised building clocks.
**Who we are looking for**:
Our ideal Broadcast Support cabling specialist will have:
- Experience in the installation and maintenance of SELV and ELV communications cables.
- Demonstrated capability around analysing and troubleshooting issues.
- Ability to work under time constraints and prioritise in order of system availability and effect of outages.
- Willingness to work around the dynamic requirements of the Parliament.
**Job Specific Requirements**:
- Appropriate trade qualifications or licenses (e.g. structured cabler qualifications and endorsements or equivalent), or equivalent relevant experience are highly desirable.
- Possess or be able to obtain accreditation in work site access (e.g. White Card), Elevated Working Platforms and Confined Space access.
- The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (Protected/Restricted) security clearance.

Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Service Level 4 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Complete the installation, termination and maintenance of a broad range of communications cabling including but not limited to coaxial, triaxial, fibre optic, CAT5 and CAT6 network, SELV and ELV signal and multicore cable.
4. Update paper-based drawings to reflect changes to cabling and termination locations, referring to the in-house drafting team for official updates.
5. Liaise directly with a broad range of stakeholders including contractors, parliamentarians and staff, to confirm their requirements whilst completing tasks.
6. Take responsibility for identifying required tools and equipment, sourcing quotes and actively maintaining inventory.
7. Collaborate with other members of the team to facilitate knowledge sharing and to seek guidance or escalate issues where appropriate.
Note: Staff may be deployed to duties of an equivalent level in this area of the section, to meet changing work priorities. They will be required to work extended and/or irregular hours on an as required basis.
