BASScare is a Not-for-Profit organisation which operates an integrated program of services including meals-on-wheels, residential care facilities, respite care, dementia specific services, retirement living, as well as planned activity groups at day centres, for older people who wish to remain active and engaged with their local communities.

Our expanding Meals on Wheels division is currently searching for a **Meals on Wheels Coordinator** to organise our meal delivery services. The role will be based in North Balwyn but there will be a requirement to work at our other sites in Canterbury, Doncaster, Hawthorn, Kew and Ashburton to cover staff leave.

**The Role**

The Meals on Wheels coordinator is a member of the Meals on Wheels team and is accountable for coordinating the delivery of meals to our clients. Some of the duties included, though not limited to are:

- Manage client initial assessments from My Aged Care referrals or private enquiries and subsequent annual reviews in accordance with regulatory compliance.
- Develop strategies to meet client nutritional needs by completing and reviewing care plans in conjunction with clients and their representatives.
- Pick up and drive client meals to distribution point, in preparation for delivery by volunteers.
- Check clients' meals in preparation for delivery, some lifting of boxes to load into van in preparation for delivery.
- Complete and supervise on-site and online administrative tasks to ensure adequate food ordering for meal delivery to clients.
- Manage billing receipting and balance monies from clients, using various systems.
- Ensure volunteers have sufficient knowledge and skills to perform their responsibilities.
- Review volunteer rosters and make changes based on client needs, number of meals, rounds and number of volunteers.
- Determine and communicate new volunteer requirements to the Volunteer Engagement Coordinator.

**About You**
- Your pleasant, tactful, and approachable personality is necessary. Your strong written and verbal communication skills are essential in this role
- Your ability to be self-motivated, reliable, and proactive and take the initiative when needed will be highly regarded.
- Current Police Check (or willing to obtain).
- Current Drivers licence.
- Your experience in aged care, health care or service delivery would be an advantage, however not required.
- Speaking Mandarin would be a desirable, however, not essential.
