**Network Design and Integration** is a Group within the Department of Transport and Planning, and is responsible for the delivery of transport priorities through the development and delivery of an integrated pipeline of projects and supprt Victoria’s Big Build to ensure an integrated network.

**About the Role**
**This is a Fixed Term, Full-time position until 13/9/2027.**
Reporting to the Manager Specialist, the Inspection Officer is responsible for leading surveillance and quality assurance of transport infrastructure construction and maintenance work the Suburban Rail Loop East project, while supporting the network interface and assurance functions. The role coordinates the planning and implementation of risk-based site surveillance of assigned works, managing resolution of issues on site with the contractor.

**Position Outcomes**
This role involves overseeing stage transition inspections for key infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) systems, while leading teams and escalating issues as needed. It also includes providing expert technical advice, managing work programs, fostering strong stakeholder relationships, and ensuring compliance with assurance processes throughout the project lifecycle.

**Qualifications and Experience**
**Mandatory**
- Minimum 7+ years civil site surveillance experience_._
- Excellent understanding of road and rail requirements and constraints within a construction environment.
**Desirable**
- A relevant certification in civil construction (e.g. Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision)
- Rail Industry Worker (RIW) Card.
