**The role**:
We are seeking talented, reliable, and passionate support workers to join our team. As a Support Worker you will support people living with disability through:

- Assisting participants with daily living activities and day to day support to meet the goals detailed in their individual plans. This could include assisting with general housework, personal hygiene, cooking or many other tasks.
- Supporting participants to access community events or services and with social outings and transport.
- Accurate record keeping, including submitting progress notes for each shift, and incident reports as appropriate.
- Providing support in a manner that is consistent and encourages and motivates the Participant to meet their goals and independent skills building, through person centred practices.
- Promoting a stimulating, caring and culturally appropriate environment for participants.
- Providing any required self-care, social and emotional support to the participant as required.
- Ensuring a professional boundary is maintained throughout the course of all support provided.
- Maintaining appropriate and effective communication with all stakeholders, including team leaders, peers, and management.

**Requirements**:

- exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with participants and team members
- a passion and enthusiasm for care and support work in the disability sector
- an ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Certificate III Individual Support or equivalent (preferred)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module (or willing to obtain)
- Covid Infection Control Certificate (completed previously or willing to obtain)
- NSW Drivers Licence
- Reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificates
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Mental health first aid training
- Medication management training
- Experience managing challenging behaviours
- Manual handling experience, including hoisting
