**About the role

Permanent part time opportunity to design, implement and evaluate a variety of recreational, diversional and social activities to improve and maintain the physical and mental health of inpatient consumers across East and West Wing Mental Health Units of MNMH-TPCH, in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team.

About you

Demonstrate a recovery focussed client centred approach in the assessment of recreation and leisure needs for individual consumers within the inpatient unit.
Supervise consumers undertaking recreational or leisure activities to ensure their wellbeing and safety and to maintain a safe working environment.
Regularly evaluate the recreational activity programs and develop new and/or additional services in accordance with the changing needs of consumers.
Participate in recreational activities research or quality improvement projects as appropriate and utilise these findings in the planning and implementation and evaluation of activities.
Liaise with the local community recreation agencies, government departments and non-government organisations to facilitate the utilisation of their resources by the service.
