Employment Programs Lead

Melbourne City Centre, Australia Level Crossing Removal Project Full time

About the role
Our Employment Programs Lead (VPS5) position is an integral role that owns the smooth development, running and continuous improvement of LXRP's Graduate Program. The role reports into our Manager, Strategic Workforce Planning and works within the Strategic Workforce Planning Team of 4 people.
In this role you will find yourself working closely with previous graduate cohorts, senior leaders across LXRP, other Employment Programs Leads across the Major Transport Infrastructure Authority (MTIA), and not to mention - our future Grad recruits As you can see, working with people from all walks of life and at all levels of seniority is a massive part of this role.
No two days will ever be the same in the world of Employment Programs, and you will find yourself providing support, receiving queries and answering questions that are weird, wonderful, important, and critical to the positive experience of our Graduates and their Managers across the business. #EmployeeExperience
You will oversee and manage the whole LXRP Graduate Program, including:

- Reviewing and reporting on previous programs and identifying areas for improvement using data and insights.
- Building strong working relationships with a large number of key stakeholders across the Victorian Government.
- Leading the recruitment program for the upcoming Graduate cohort.
- Program management of the two existing Graduate cohorts currently completing their rotations across different LXRP business units.
- Representing LXRP in person at Graduate Careers Fairs and Expo's.

This position is a 12-month fixed-term contract (parental leave backfill), paying between $103,920 - $125,735 plus 10.5% superannuation. We enjoy a hybrid working arrangement (2 to 3 days WFO, and 2 to 3 WFH every week).
This role is also open to someone that wants to work flexibly, be that part time or a condensed working week.
About you
You are someone that thrives on collaboration, that loves a cheeky brainstorm, that understands the importance of data and insights, and always wants to do things better than the last time. You don't like to be bored, and you enjoy stakeholder communication - there is LOTS OF IT in this role, so that part is important.
You're someone that can go to a party on their own and leave with 2 new friends. You're confident to create and build working relationships, provide guidance and support, and have a difficult conversation when needed.
Rightlet's get technical. What skills and experience do we expect you to have?
- Adaptability - things can change, swivel and pivot at the drop of a hat here at LXRP, and we need you to be able to handle a change in scope, manage expectations and emotions if that happens.
- Planning & prioritising - needless to say, managing multiple programs requires impeccable time management and forward planning. Foresight, risk mitigation and communication are skills that are crucial for this role.
- Influencing & negotiating - this is a fine craft that few people have down pat. If you've ever been told you could “sell water to a fish” or “sand to a beach” then I think you're on the right track. Whilst there isn't a traditional sales element to this role, there will be times when you need to influence people to your way of thinking or negotiate a mutually beneficial outcome.
- Collaboration - some experience in getting a group together for a brainstorm, or an ideation session would be ideal. Are you someone that loves to work in a team, and believes that 2 brains are better than 1, and 5 brains are sometimes better than 2, but never more than 8 brains because 8 brains could attract a zombie and we haven't got our doomsday bunker ready to go yetyou get the picture? Basically, you believe in the power of teamwork.
- Some previous exposure to program management and/or recruitment would be ideal but is not essential.
