CSIRO is seeking a Facilities Officer to support site operations in Tasmania as part of the Business and Infrastructure Services team. This role oversees property, buildings, and support services, including receipt & dispatch, reception, after-hours on-call duties, fleet management, security, and access control.

Key responsibilities include coordinating facilities maintenance, workflow processes, and asset management to ensure efficient operations. You will also contribute to strategy development and continuous improvement in maintenance scheduling and reporting.

**Your duties will include**:

- Perform tasks related to visitor management, facility management support, site security, fleet vehicle support and assisting CBIS site administrative staff.
- The use of IT systems including Work Order Management, Access Control, MS Office and standalone platforms such as Risk/Hazard reporting software.
- Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary Tasmanian team to carry out tasks in support of CSIRO scientific objectives.
- Liaise with clients to provide timely, responsive customer service and effective communications to achieve a high level of client satisfaction, addressing issues promptly and constructively, using sound judgement when dealing with ambiguity.
- Supervise and engage contractors for on-site delivery of work related to facilities management including repairs, maintenance, new installations and provision of soft services (including cleaning, security, grounds maintenance and waste management) using the CBIS works order management system. This includes the conduct of inductions and safety administration as required.
- Operate security and access systems to maintain effective site security and oversee provision of security, access-control cards and key issuing for staff and tenants in compliance with privacy requirements.

**Salary**:AU$73,567 - AU$93,630 plus up to 15.4% superannuation

**To be considered you will need**:

- Relevant work experience in the delivery of facility management services, for a diverse range of support facilities.
- Proven effective interpersonal abilities, including sound negotiation and communication skills and an ability to cultivate productive working relationships with all stakeholders.
- The ability to work efficiently with a diverse operational team of property professionals across multiple sites.
- Some knowledge of procurement processes, such as the ability to obtain quotes for goods and services or assisting with this process.
- Demonstrated ability to work under general direction, accept responsibility and take accountability for on-site service provision, including the coordination of trade and other services contractors to ensure delivery of hard and soft services.
- Demonstrated knowledge/experience and appreciation of relevant procedures/protocols, compliance and statutory requirements associated with Federal, State and Local Government building and services codes, regulations and HSE requirements.
- Current motor vehicle license and forklift licence or the ability to obtain, and ability to travel, including interstate.

Desirable:

- Previous experience in Facilities Management of a science technology or research complex
