**About the role**
Are you a pricing analyst looking for your next step? As our new Pricing Specialist within the Insurance Pricing team, you will play a key part in delivering the best in data insights, analytical modelling, and end-to-end pricing processes within our agile insurance environment. Further to this, you will be a key mentor and a trusted go-to, sharing in your technical pricing expertise and helping build capabilities within the team.
As a specialist, you will take ownership of your portfolio, and manage working relationships with other key stakeholders within RACQ. Reporting to the Pricing Manager, you will be part of a high-performing and dynamic team, in a flexible working environment, where no day is the same. Your key duties will be to:
- Develop, influence, and execute on pricing strategies and decisions across RACQ portfolios to deliver profitability, growth, and sustainability
- Form pricing recommendations based on analytical modelling, business context, competitive and demand intelligence. Execute on these recommendations using end-to-end pricing processes and manage associated complex engagements with a diverse stakeholder group
- Continually improve the quality and effectiveness of pricing processes, and be accountable for the enhancement of modelling, analysis, monitoring and/or reporting components of the pricing process
- Gather, analyse, and draw insights from internal and external data using a broad range of descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analytics technologies
- Develop and/or interpret predictive statistical models such as technical cost, premium emulation, competitor price deconstruction models, retention, and quote conversion models
**About you**
As a Pricing Specialist you will already have great interpersonal skills, which will assist with effective coaching and stakeholder engagement. You will be solution oriented, an analytical thinker, and have strong collaboration skills. On top of this, you will have:
- A degree or postgraduate qualification in a numerate discipline, e.g., Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Statistics
- 3-5 years’ relevant experience within an insurance environment
- Advanced analytical skills in relevant languages (SAS, SQL, R, Python)
- Highly developed experience and expertise in the development, testing, deployment, and monitoring of descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analytic solutions using a broad range of technologies
- High level of computer literacy
- High level of financial literacy including the ability to analyse insurance financial statements
- Demonstrated ability to synthesise complex issues and provide digestible and actionable insights
- Well-developed internal consulting skills
- High level communication and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Insurance Code of Practice and Policy principles
