Dynamic leadership role in a critical public sector agency
- Key member of executive leadership team
- Support an exciting change agenda

**About the organisation**

Established to support the stability and resilience of the State of Victoria, Treasury Corporation Victoria (TCV) has a purpose to build a better future for the State and its clients. Known for its market-savvy, outstanding client relationships and superior operations, TCV is a dynamic financial entity, which centrally manages funding, liquidity and interest rate risk for the Victorian public sector. TCV’s success is built on an unyielding commitment to make a difference for the State, strong collaboration and a culture of professional excellence. With consistently strong employee engagement scores and an inclusive, collaborative culture, TCV supports a hybrid working model that prioritises work-life balance and empowers employees to thrive both professionally and personally.

**About the role**

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and a key member of the Executive Leadership Team the General Counsel and Corporation Secretary (GCCS) will play a key role in the development and implementation of strategic and operational initiatives across TCV. The GCCS has overall responsibility for all legal matters across TCV, including managing the legal team and advising on TCV’s statutory and contractual obligations. As Corporation Secretary, this role acts as the key liaison between Board and Management and manages all Board and committee operations. In this group-wide remit, the GCCS is responsible for setting corporate governance structures, leading legal operations support, and ensuring the organisation has appropriate governance and insurance structures in place.

**About you**

You are a highly experienced senior commercial/corporate lawyer with a background in either private practice or in-house roles within a complex corporate or government environment. You have a proven track record of building and leading high-performing legal teams and enabling organisational change to foster a culture of integrity, compliance and collaboration. Direct experience as a Corporation Secretary or Deputy Corporation Secretary is strongly preferred with a deep understanding of board governance, regulatory compliance and corporate reporting. With outstanding communication skills and commercial acumen - including negotiation and analytical skills - you think laterally and strategically and have the insight and ability to establish innovative and pragmatic solutions to complex issues. An accomplished people leader, you enjoy mentoring and leading a small but commercially astute and proactive legal team.
