MIRRAT is located in Port Melbourne and is a 3 berth, 187,000 sqm facility with 14,500 car slots. We offer a range of integrated on-wharf solutions including vessel berthing, vehicle storage, quarantine washing, and logistics for a wide range of automotive, rolling equipment, and breakbulk products.

The MIRRAT Team handles a broad range of shipment and cargo types including well-known vehicle, mining, and agricultural equipment brands, as well as a wide range of other cargo types including specialty cars, boats, caravans, helicopters, and everything in between.

**Job Description**:
**About the Role**:
MIRRAT is looking for a Cargo Quality Team Leader based in Port Melbourne, Victoria, reporting to the Planning and Cargo Manager MIRRAT. The Cargo Quality Team Leader will be responsible for the management, scheduling, administration, cleaning, and execution for all Quarantine cargo at MIRRAT ensuring the Quarantine function meets the agreed targets and objectives regarding customer expectations, efficiency, and profitability. The incumbent will also be required to ensure all internal processes and regulatory compliance processes are followed to process and clear Quarantine cargo within agreed time frames.

Job Requirements:
**Main responsibilities**:

- End to end management of all site Quarantine activities including placing Quarantine holds, treatment of cargo, and inspections for Automotive, RORO and Breakbulk cargo.
- Scheduling of all site quarantine cleaning activities to ensure timely completion according to customer deadlines.
- Provide supervision and direction to MIRRAT operations and labour hire staff to ensure quarantine activities are carried out according to Department of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry (DAFF) directions.
- Quality Assurance of quarantine cleaned vehicles to ensure compliance with DAFF requirements.
- Evaluation of resources and engagement of appropriate MIRRAT and labour hire staff levels according to workload
- Training and development of staff in quarantine cleaning methodology assessing staff competence for quarantine activities to ensure employee suitability for tasks allocated.
- Develop, maintain and sustain on-going relationships with DAFF management and biosecurity officers to promote cohesion between MIRRAT operations and the department.
- Engagement of external contactors quarantine activities including fumigation, heat treatment and disassembly/operation of RORO cargo for wash bay cleaning
- Management of invoicing for all quarantine work undertaken including Break bulk inspection attendance, cleaning of automotive and RORO cargo and fumigation/heat treatment activities
- Develop, monitor and report relevant metrics to senior management to evaluate status of quarantine workload and profitability.
- Evaluate changes to DAFF guidelines.
- Review, develop and implement new strategies and work procedures accordingly.

**Required Experience and Qualifications**:

- Relevant DAFF training including the Accredited Persons Training.
- Confident and proactive approach in handling customer queries.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Knowledge of Customs & Quarantine requirements advantageous.
- Knowledge of Australian Biosecurity rules and regulations.
- Tertiary and/or higher education advantageous.
- Freight forwarding experience advantageous.
