Why this role matters

As the Community Engagement Worker you will develop, facilitate and deliver quality needs-based community programs to engage the community with Streetlevel.

This is a fixed-term, permanent part-time position, 24 hours a week for 12 months.

The role you could play
- Build relationships and develop community support and partnerships
- Develop new initiatives and activities that meet needs in our community
- Be responsible for existing community ministries and activities and develop new and innovative community engagement activities
- Get alongside and seek to encourage, equip and empower people in crisis through engagement in Streel level community activities and referrals to Salvation Army and other community service providers
- Provide training and guidance to Volunteers & Students including encouraging, equipping and empowering them to appropriately support the Street Level community
- Liaise with Team Leader and Street level team regarding budget for community engagement opportunities, and be involved in submissions for grants from local council etc

What you will bring
- Tertiary qualifications in Community Services/Social Work - minimum certificate level, or relevant experience
- Experience in community engagement on behalf of a religious institution or not-for-profit organization
- Demonstrated experience in developing and running community-based activities
- Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate with community partners and community members
- A willingness to undergo a National Police check
