An exciting opportunity exists for a visionary leader with a passion for mechanical design and innovation to join Banlaw as their Mechanical Development Manager.
**About the Role**:
As the Mechanical Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the success of the mechanical design team and the advancement of the Banlaw product range. Your leadership will be essential in driving innovation, ensuring technical excellence, and maintaining operational efficiency. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Research and Development: Lead the research and development initiatives to create innovative mechanical products for heavy industry and mining sectors.
- Engineering and Technical Support: Provide expert technical guidance to the team, ensuring the successful execution of projects and prompt resolution of technical challenges.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee the mechanical design team's operations, focusing on documentation and technical specifications, physical asset maintenance, continuous improvement of business efficiencies and quality compliance.
- Environment and Safety: Uphold a strong commitment to environmental sustainability and safety throughout the product development process, while proactively supporting the safety focussed culture.
**About you**:
You will have demonstrated experience in mechanical product design, development and testing and preferably specifically with strong knowledge in fluid mechanics. Additionally you will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma of Mechanical Engineering Technology.
- Proven experience with Solidworks for 3D modeling and design and proficiency with AutoCAD mechanical and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent technical document writing skills, project and budget management skills.
- Familiarity with CAD Data Management and Engineering Change Management processes.
- Excellent communication and strong leadership skills.
