- With team members in Australia, USA, Canada, Europe and Africa, SLR’s Mining Advisory Group provides advisory services to the mining sector at all stages of project development from exploration and resource evaluation through scoping, prefeasibility and feasibility studies, financing, permitting, construction, operation, and closure and rehabilitation. We provide support to major mining companies, mid-caps, junior mining and exploration companies, financial institutions, governments, law firms and individual investors on the technical and commercial aspects of mineral property development and have extensive experience in all commodities and mining regions of the world.**SLR is seeking an experienced Metallurgist to join our APAC Mining Advisory team.** You will play an important role in our team, by leading or supporting technical services projects. You will make technical contributions to projects focusing on mineral processing, and bring strong data analysis and problem-solving skills, and critical and conceptual thinking abilities.Key Responsibilities
**Job tasks and responsibilities**

- Contribute to process technology and operational/optimization projects with key success factors aligned to the project business case, including health and safety, environmental compliance, technical outcomes, schedule, cost, and quality
- Provide metallurgical support to techno-economic studies, including scoping, pre-feasibility, and feasibility engineering activities
- Provide metallurgical support for due diligence and independent engineer activities
- Provide consulting services to operational sites and project teams in various areas of mineral processing engineering
- Follow established health and safety policies
**Skills and experience**
- Tertiary qualifications in metallurgical, chemical, or mining engineering (mineral processing focus)
- 5+ years of experience in the engineering or environmental consulting industry or;
- 5+ years of operational experience in a mineral processing environment
- Experience with sample selection and conducting metallurgical test work programs
- Experience with designing and supervising metallurgical test work programs and interpretation of results
- Experience in process design and familiarity with processing methods for a variety of commodities
- Experience with budgeting or operating cost estimation
- Strong technical mindset and good report writing skills
- Registered or eligible to register as a professional engineer
