Graduate Metallurgists

With an expected mine life of 30+ years, it will underpin a long-term iron ore business and provide sustainable benefits to the regional community in which we operate. The operation includes a large open pit mine, complex ore processing and beneficiation plant and significant infrastructure and logistics networks.

We are seeking **Graduate Metallurgists **to join our growing Metallurgy team on site.

The Graduates will report to the Senior Metallurgist and assist the metallurgical team in providing technical support to the operations at the Karara Mine, while maintaining the integrity of the metallurgical accounting data and improving operational performance of the processing plant, consistent with safety and cost imperatives.

This position operates on an **8 days on and 6 days off** roster and will be offered on a **12 month Maximum Term Contract**.

**Responsibilities and Accountabilities;**
- Monitor and report metallurgical performance of the plant on a day-to-day basis and providing technical support to operational teams under the guidance of the plant and senior metallurgists
- Maintain and update operating strategies and troubleshooting guides to assist in technical training of Process Operators.
- Assist with technical reports on plant performance analysis
- Complete daily, weekly and monthly metallurgical accounting and reporting
- Conduct equipment inspections during shutdowns and on an as needs basis.

**Essential Qualifications and Experience;**
- Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Minerals Processing or related discipline
- Western Australian C Class Drivers Licence
- Effective computer literacy, including spread sheet and database development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with data management and metallurgical software is highly regarded
- Vacation work experience within a minerals processing environment will be highly regarded
- Must have Australian Citizenship or hold a valid visa with permission to work
- National Police clearance
