Exciting opportunity for an Environmental Planner to join a large electricity transmission network in Australia, supporting the transition to a cleaner energy future.

**Your new role**

As an Environmental Planner, you will be delivering and completing environmental planning advice and approvals required for this organisation’s programs of work. You will also be required to carry out the following:

- Develop high quality and timely environmental assessment documentation and approvals
- Scope and develop environmental impact assessments.
- Ensure all aspects of environmental planning assessments are documented and delivered in an efficient, timely, and complete manner.
- Ensure environmental assessments and statutory approvals are legally compliant
- Negotiate with and influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve appropriate management strategies and conditions of approval.
- Developing and implementing environmental practices and procedures to deliver best practice management of the appropriate environmental planning obligations
- Providing specialist environmental advice
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, communities, and government entities, to deliver timely and efficient advice and information.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Tertiary qualification at degree level in an environmental planning/ management related discipline
- 3+ years’ experience in the management and preparation of environmental impact assessments in accordance with Part 5 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
- Experience in the management of contracted environmental specialist services
- Good understanding and demonstrated experience in the use of geographic information systems related to environmental planning and management.
- High level of written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Ability to self-manage, work under pressure and work in a team environment
- A current driver’s licence.
