**About the role**
Based Melbourne you will be responsible for leading, motivating and mentoring a team of dedicated support workers to provide therapeutic care and support to people with disability, who have backgrounds of trauma, abuse and /or neglect.
You'll play a key role in supporting people with disability to develop independent living skills, engage in education and remain positively connected to their team of Care Workers, Families, and broader community connections. You’ll also work in partnership with a Therapeutic Specialist and Case Manager to lead the implementation of the care model and ensure a safe, homelike environment for the Children & Young People in our care.
As our House Manager you will oversee daily operations in our shared home. You will lead and supervise a team of support workers, engage with family members and stakeholders, and work directly with participants to ensure our participants achieve their goals, remain connected to community, culture and all the things they hold dear
If you have leadership experience in youth work, disability, mental health or health and possess a solid understanding of complex trauma and its impacts on children and young people, we are keen to hear from you
**Key Responsibilities**
As a House Manager, you will have the following Responsibilities**:
- Responsibility for developing, implementing, and reporting on the Growth Plan, ensuring alignment with our client Strategic Growth Plan and agreed timelines and targets
- To be building effective and collaborative relationships with key SDA providers and referrers
- To implement a Vacancy Management process for individual vacancies, and an Afterhours Service capacity that meets the needs of issues escalation and resolution
- Leadership responsibility that ensures the team is performing to a high standard, and that all governance, documentation, and reporting standards are met
- To deliver comprehensive monthly reports addressing expenditure and financial tracking, incident reporting, staffing, continuous improvement, and potential business development opportunities
- Experience in supporting participants with complex healthcare needs, acquired brain injury and trauma.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting independent living working directly with participants to achieve their goals.
- Experience with behavioural management plans, healthcare support plans and behaviours that challenge.
- Demonstrated capacity to manage critical issues and deal with challenging situations.
- Demonstrated experience in leadership and mentoring diverse teams.
- A sound understanding of the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding framework.
- Manage home in accordance with the care model, legislation, relevant standards, policies and procedures and funding body requirements
- Be actively present in the home environment, providing role modelling to staff
- Oversee and participate in the planning and implementation of therapeutic care plans
- Manage, support and provide reflective supervision to your team
- Provide an environment free of abuse, harm and exploitation for the Children & Young people we support
**Qualifications & Experience**
- A Diploma of Community Services, Certificate IV in Disability or other relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Youth work or related (A qualification is desirable but not essential for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants with relevant experience)
- Experience supporting people with disabilities, complex health needs and those whom exhibit pain based behaviours of concern
- Ability to provide supervision and support to a team of Therapeutic Care Workers, to embed the delivery of therapeutic models of support to Children & Young People.
