Why this role matters
The Salvation Army Australia’s Family Violence Stream provides a wide range of services around the country to support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence. We offer refuge, children’s and parenting services, counselling, support, men’s programs, accommodation and advice to women and children who are experiencing, or who have experienced, family violence.
About the role
We are seeking a values-driven Program Facilitator to support the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of TSA’s new Family Violence Primary Prevention in Workplaces pilot. The role will support the development of a new training package and delivery of primary prevention training to participants from a wide range of backgrounds and organisations, either as a sole trainer or in a co-facilitation role.
You will successfully
- Design, develop and implement high-quality evidence-based training resources and materials grounded in relevant theories and have a strong understanding of evaluation practices.
- Effectively facilitate group work / discussion with people from a wide range of backgrounds and organisations across Western Australia, either as a sole trainer or in a co-facilitation role.
- Work under the general direction of the Leadership Team and FV Specialists and adhere to established work practices whilst exercising initiative and judgement where practices and direction are not clearly defined.
- Develop positive and effective relationships with key stakeholders and organisations.
- Understand and effectively manage the delivery of community engagement and development strategies and activities. Including identifying gaps and recommending improvements to the Leadership Team.
- Adhere to the Family Violence Stream vision, mission and values and that of TSA and contributes to a collaborative approach within the team.
This is a full-time, fixed term(1 year) position located in Perth, WA. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Level 5 award.
You will have
- Tertiary qualification in relevant field such as Social Work, Public Health, Health Promotion, Community Development, Welfare, or related field.
- Relevant experience in a not-for-profit and/or social service environment.
- A strong understanding of violence against women (including family violence) as a gendered issue.
- Demonstrate experience working in family and domestic violence sector.
- Demonstrate experience working with Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and/or Culturally and Linguistically Diverse peoples.
- Highly developed time management skills with an ability to work autonomously with mínimal supervision.
- Competent computing skills including experience in data and record management and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A national police record check is required.
- Compulsory Code of Conduct, WHS and Bullying and Harassment training modules are completed and up to date.
- Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s License.
- Working with Children’s Check
- Ability and willingness to travel intra-state where required.
