**Position Information**:
Five Dock Public School comprises of 17 classes (13 mainstream classes, 4 support classes) and is situated in the inner west of Sydney. Current enrolment numbers are 325 in the mainstream. Our preschool offers two classes, with 20 in each group. Our school prides itself on a philosophy of inclusivity and there is a shared understanding on the part of both teaching and non-teaching staff that every child is an individual, working to ensure that all students have the opportunity to realise their potential. The school is currently completing its situational analysis following EV in May.

The school is committed to fostering a school-wide culture of high expectations through explicit teaching and a collaborative, consistent and committed approach to implementing evidence-informed research that will build the capacity of teachers to ensure growth and attainment for all students. The school promotes a culture of collaboration to support teachers to deepen their knowledge and understanding of best practice.

**Selection Criteria**:
Approval to teach primary library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education (Refer special notes below).

Demonstrated ability to engage students through evidence-based teaching and learning practices, promoting critical and creative thinking, digital literacy, Information and Communications Technology, as well a passion for literature across the school.

Highly developed communication, organisation and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with the school, our community and contribute positively to the whole school culture.

Demonstrated capacity to organise, manage and implement a dynamic and flexible library learning environment, encompassing the physical space and resources of the library, creating a welcoming community hub of learning.

This is a permanent part-time position for 4 days per week 0.8 FTE (Full-time equivalent).

If applicable engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher Librarian qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education, which must be completed within 24 months.
